Activity Programs

An Activity Program consists of a sequence of activities performed on assets, and applied in a predefined order, otherwise known as a workflow. The need for an activity program is often first identified by a failure or incident relating to a specific asset. Assets deemed to be at similar risk based upon their properties, location, maintenance record etc. are added to a Program. Each asset within the Program is then subjected to the activity workflow defined for the program.

Activity Programs can be applied to any asset types to address known or perceived issues as well as acting as an "Asset Risk Register" where assets deemed as "high risk", for example those prone to cause flooding, can be grouped and subsequently monitored via the completion of appropriate activities.

A Program can have a single Object template. This template represents the default activity type, in which all new line items perform the default activity type unless otherwise specified.

Each Program may have many line items, each representing a single directive. The line item can reference a single Asset or Serialized Item object. This object represents the input to the activity. It is not required that a line item to be assigned to a Project or Task object, and line items may be associated with multiple Projects or Tasks simultaneously.

The following diagram depicts the workflow of a Program when its status changes.

Activity Programs are part of an approval workflow. The following diagram depicts the workflow of a Program when its approval status changes.

Activity Programs are defined in AssetWise Director. For more information, see "Activity Programs" in the AssetWise CONNECT Edition Implementation Guide.

Program activities can be accessed via the Programs tile, from the AssetWise CONNECT Edition Launch Pad.
